Tough Verses

{16:28} Amen I say to you, there are some among those standing here, who shall not taste death, until they see the Son of man arriving in his reign.”
Mark
{9:27} And yet, I tell you a truth: There are some standing here who shall not taste death, until they see the kingdom of God.”

The kingdom of Christ on earth began to arrive even with his Incarnation and birth, and ministry. And his kingdom on earth arrives more fully with Christ's return at the end of the tribulation. And the kingdom of God on earth is perfected when God makes a new heaven and a new earth at the time of the general Resurrection.

So the kingdom arrives by degrees. Even now, the kingdom of God on earth, that is, the Church, increases in knowledge and holiness as the centuries pass.

So they did not taste death until they saw, not the very end of the fulfillment of the kingdom of God, but the very beginning of that long process of arrival.
